[prMac.com] Lancashire, United Kingdom - The game has been classed as an Action Puzzler, with the player needing to control a monster that is being chased by "Evil Robot Guards". Dodging the guards is challenging enough, but not the only feature in the game. You must also collect the stars - placed in hard to reach areas, of course - to complete each level, with extra gems to collect within an allotted amount of time.
The developer sums the up action in the description as "dodge past the evil robot guards, navigate the challenging levels, collect the golden stars, and get the heck out of there!"
Save the Monster is set over two locations, or stages, The Beach and The Tundra, with a 3rd stage The Sahara being added shortly. Each stage presents the user with its own unique challenges, with different types of robots and added objects and puzzles for each.
The game so far has had a good response from reviews and gamers, receiving 5/5 stars on the AppStore, and 4 stars from a UK based review website.
"I've spent the last 8 months developing the game in my spare time." Says developer, Scott Walker. "It's been frustrating only being able to work on it for a few hours a week, but its been worth it in the end, after seeing the great feedback."
"I developed the game on my own, from the game idea, design, development, art and even the music. It would have been too expensive to outsource these jobs, especially as it was just originally a side hobby. I hope that this encourages any Indie Developers that are making games and apps as a one-man-team that it can be done, and on a small (or no) budget."
And there is more coming soon. An update is expected in the coming weeks with more levels, Game Centre integration, and more fun.
Each of the many gorgeous colour HD-graphic levels brings new mind twisting challenges, heart pumping excitement, and finger tingling addiction. So put on your sneaking shoes, download the game and show little monster what you are made of!
