Anticipate 1.0 Free for iOS - Social Network for Sharing Upcoming Events

Melbourne,  AU   Jun 13, 2012

[prMac.com] Melbourne, Australia - Sayakota today is pleased to introduce Anticipate 1.0 free for iOS, their app designed as a personal event calendar, which also allows users to share their upcoming events, news, and trends with other members of the Anticipate social network. Including 14 different trending news categories, users can make public their private, personal event listings. Members can follow all the postings of individual contributors or topics within categories, find new friends or people of interest, and discover what Influencers, those with the most followers, are writing about. Membership is free and available from within the app.

Feature Highlights:
* Integrated personal calendar and social networking app
* Find out what events, news, and stories users are anticipating around the world
* Follow popular users or Influencers
* Find others with similar interests
* Discover trends directly from those who make the news

Sayakota describes Anticipate as a "social discovery tool that is a combination of personal calendar plus reminder with a social twist." After entering a personal reminder about an event, the user has the option of sharing that entry with others, where it can be viewed in the appropriate public trends channel of the app. The app includes 14 categories or channels, including: Arts, Business, Entertainment, Environment, Health, Lifestyle, Personal, Politics, Science, Shopping, Sports, Technology, Work, and World.

Whenever users touch the Add a Date button, a page containing several empty text fields allows them to fill in the following: What, Date, Time, Where, Category, and Public Yes/No. Choosing Yes makes their reminder visible to the entire Anticipate Community. Also available are a limitless text field for a Description and an empty image field to add a photo or graphic.

Now, when users check the details of their own events, they can find other news, dates, and comments that may be of interest to them. The Users function of Anticipate contains a choice of three lists, the user's Watchlist of other users they are following, a Search List of every member, and an Influencers List of those having the most followers. The My Trends function lets users save favorites in an alphabetical or categorical list. And the Public Trends function allows members to enter any search term and view what others are anticipating, arranged in one of four kinds of list: Upcoming, Latest, Category, and Popular.

The app's home page or Dashboard allows the user to easily navigate among Anticapate's various features and functions. A swipable blue banner headline controls which of 14 trends, e.g., New Lifestyle Trends, New Science Trends, etc., is displayed in the photo below. Touching the picture's caption opens a full page, scrollable entry containing the details as provided by one of the members of the community. A green Follow button lets users subscribe and receive more related news. Back on the Dashboard, three large text bars let users quickly Add a Date, Manage & View Dates, and Discover Dates of Interest.

"Be inspired by other users on the network," advises Peter Fiasco of Sayakota, "and discover dates of interest to follow, such as upcoming trending news events, celebrity birthdays, award shows, upcoming concerts and festivals, local, national and international events, presidential elections, game releases, movie releases, drug trial results, scientific breakthroughs, technology launches, as well as amazing things that will happen in the future."
